Heritage Junior High ‘Blue and Gray Ball’

In our continuing commitment to teaching traditional American culture and values, Heritage Junior High once again hosted the ‘Blue and Gray Ball’,the crowning event for Heritage Junior High’s students studying the American Civil War era. This event is a three hour formal dinner and dance. Students are encouraged to dress in 19th century attire and a professional dance caller expertly guides our students in learning and enjoying Civil War era dances.

The event was coordinated between Heritage Junior High School and Escondido Charter High School and the event was held in the American Spirit Theater and Gymnasium. A dedicated team made up of faculty, parent volunteers, and Heritage Junior High Leadership and Yearbook students helped arrange a myriad of decorations, set tables, serve food, set up, and tear down for the event.

The evening began with a formal dinner, then proceeded to the dance portion of the event, which lasted for two hours. The dance caller deftly guided the students through a wide range of energetic and fun dances that were enjoyed by Americans during the mid 19th century. A grand time was had by all! Heritage Junior High School would like to thank all of the faculty members, parent volunteers, and students who helped to make this event a resounding success.
